The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation will commemorate the sixth year of the opening of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis, Illinois on Wednesday, March 1, 2005 from 3:00 PM - 5PM with is Founder's Day Celebration at the Center located at 101 Jackie Joyner-Kersee Circle, East St. Louis IL.

 

YOUTH GET FANATIC ABOUT FINANCE

Eleven-week program series promotes financial responsibility and independence among youth.

 

 February 28, 2006 – East St. Louis -- Youth who want to learn to manage their money need to look no further than the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center.  For 11 weeks beginning March 8, 2006 members of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center will build basic money management skills through the Finance Fanatic project – a workshop series that promotes financial responsibility and independence in members ages 13-18.

 

 

 JACKIE JOYNER-KERSEE AND SCHNUCKS PARTNER FOR 4TH
 ANNUAL BRIDGE RUN

 
East St. Louis – October 11, 2005
– Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee will host   
  the 4th Annual JJK/Schnucks Bridge Run, a five-kilometer run across the Martin 
  Luther King Bridge from St. Louis, Mo. to East St. Louis, Ill. and back. The run
  kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 15.

  DIRECTOR AND DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM SERVICES

  appointed Lecia J. Rives as the new Executive Director and Shakira Nasiruddin as 
  Director of Program Services.

Circuit City Foundation Sponsors Annual Search for Top Young Photographers

The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Boys and Girls Club is joining a nationwide search to identify talented young artists. The competition is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) ImageMakers National Photography Contest. Sponsored by the Circuit City Foundation, the contest is part of a comprehensive initiative encouraging artistic skills, cultural enrichment and creativity in the medium of photography.

Brings together more than 900 students and world-class athletes

This weekend, more than 900 female high school, middle school and elementary track and field athletes from across the Midwest will participate in the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation | Giving back to the community that gave me so much./East St. Louis Senior High School’s 14th Annual “Winning in Life” Program & JJK / East St. Louis Relays.  The theme for this year's event is "The Olympic Flame Continues to Burn: Paying Tribute to One of Our Greatest Treasures."

 

JACKIE JOYNER-KERSEE FOUNDATION RECEIVES $35,000 FROM MET LIFE FOUNDATION AND THE AFTER-SCHOOL CORPORATION (TASC)

Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation is one in only 13 awarded grants

The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation | Giving back to the community that gave me so much. has been awarded a $35,000 grant to implement an after school program at Lincoln Middle School, in East St. Louis School District 189, through the MetLife’s Discovering Community Initiative.  The After-School Corporation administers the grant.
