Youth Philanthropy. The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation W.K. Kellogg Youth Philanthropy Initiative has been developed with the forethought that in order for youth development programming to be most effective, it should not only teach youth the principles of strong leadership, academic, athletic, and social skills; it must also fully embrace the dynamic role that culture, history and environment play in the developmental process of each participant.
Acknowledging all of these elements in a holistic, youth- driven approach, prepares young people to think more critically about their civic responsibilities and how they can assume responsible roles in society.
JJK Ambassadors & Keystoners
JJK Ambassadors & Keystoners will drive all of the JJKF W.K Kellogg Foundation youth philanthropy projects and will be actively engaged and responsible for the grant governance structure (grant development, review, distribution and applicant compliance criteria) peer-to-peer trainings, community service & special events project development, implementation and volunteer recognition.
Consequently, youth learn about the value of giving, while strengthening communication and leadership skills. They gain confidence, increased sensitivity to the needs of others, and a greater awareness of their ability to impact change.
